Synopsis
The story revolves around an unfortunate woman who was born and brought up in a poor but respectable family. After her first child was born whom she called ‘Dev’, she discovered that her husband was a man from the underworld, responsible for bringing calamity upon families. She decided to save her son from becoming what his father was; hence, she left her city and joined her Muslim childhood friend who also had a son called ‘Salim’.
Time lapsed and Salim and Dev grow up to face the hardships of the existing times. The two of them, apart from their education, had the blessing of being musicians, on which they banked for a livelihood.
One day they witnessed Ranjeet and his gang murder a poor man for being an informer. Ranjeet ordered that Dev and Salim be eliminated. On the run for their lives, the two youngsters board a train – joining a girl’s band as a female musician.
In the girl band was the crooner Neetu who had also run away from her marriage ceremony as she was forced to marry an older man – ‘Prakash’
Dev posing as prince charming manages to win Neetu’s love in the picturesque surroundings of Kashmir. Just as things were going easy, Prakash and his men arrive in the same hotel to attend an All-India Underworld Conference.
The conference revealed them to be the greatest of hoarders of different commodities. During the celebrations Devi and Salma were exposed to be Dev and Salim, Prakash recognized Neetu to be the girl who had escaped from marriage with him, but things were fortunate for Dev, Salim and Neetu. They found refuge in a millionaire’s abode.
Dev’s mother was brought to Shrinagar and held captive, Dev and Salim had no where to go, they surrendered to Ranjeet. When Dev’s mother was brought forward Ranjeet was shocked to find out that the lady was his wife and Dev his own son, but the principles of the under-world are evil, Ranjeet’s partner decides to kill them all.
