Synopsis
The epic story of Mahabharat which was written five thousand years ago is known to every Indian even today. It is translated in many languages and considered as one of the greatest stories ever told.

It is the story of five brothers who fought for truth, peace and justice. These five brothers were called Pandavas. They had to fight with their own brothers who were known as Kauravs.

The immortal character of Mahabharat is undoubtedly Lord Krishna, who helped the Pandavas as their friend, philosopher and guide.

The climax of Mahabharat was the epic battle of the ‘Kurukshetra’, in which the Pandavas fought for justice. In this epic war, Arjuna - a great warrior and devotee of Lord Krishna, refused to fight against his own relatives and cousin brothers. But it was Lord Krishna who inspired Arjuna to do his duty and participate in the war.

The advice that Lord Krishna gave to Arjuna is known as “Bhagwat Geeta” which is the essence of Indian Philosophy of life. Indeed to an Indian ‘Geeta’ is a holy book and over the centuries it has inspired saints like Mahatma Gandhi, Lokmanya Tilak and Dr. Radha Krishnan.

As a result of the great war of Mahabharat, the Kaurawas were killed and the Pandavas ruled the kingdom of Hastinapur to establish truth and justice in the sacred land of Bharat.
